Setting
Describe the time and place of the story: brian is on a beach after the plane crash and is there for months
Comments about the setting (examples: setting makes story exciting, setting has an important effect on main character, setting is/is not exciting or new, setting increased my knowledge of something): brian was on the beach for about 4 to 6 months, but it was different because he had to make his own shelter, drink lake water, and had to work to find his own food. But if he was at home he wouldn’t have to make his own shelter because it was already made, he would have clean water, and would already have food
.
Theme
What is the author trying to say in this story? What is his lesson in life?
Is there a moral to this story?to not take things for granted.
This is a story about (courage? working hard? doing the right thing? greed? importance of friends? jealousy? love? caring? happiness? sadness?) its about courage and working hard

This book showed me/I learned from this story: I really didn’t learn anything
State a problem in the story and how it was solved: Brian had no where to sleep but against a tree but then he built a shelter.

My letter

Dear Brian Robeson
I just wanted to say that I am inspired by you. By the way u survived in the middle of nowhere for four months with very little and made it like you had everything u needed to survive for ever. I mean if it was me out there I would not have the courage and strength to keep trying.
At the end when I found out that u were going to make it I was so excited for you. Well that is all I have to say for right now so I hope when u get home that you have a good welcome home.
Sincerely,
Kyrsten Gibson
